Authenticator Apps
Download an authenticator app
Authenticator apps generate a one-time verification code that you can use in addition to a password. If you don’t have an authenticator app, popular choices include Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator. Both can be downloaded from your phone's App Store.
Google Authenticator
Download Google Authenticator :
-
For Android, visit the Google Play Store
-
For iOS, visit the Apple App Store
For help setting up Google Authenticator on your device, see Google Account Help: Get verification codes with Google Authenticator.
Microsoft Authenticator
Download Microsoft Authenticator :
-
For Android, visit the Google Play Store
-
For iOS, visit the Apple App Store
For help setting up Microsoft Authenticator on your device, see Microsoft Support: How to add your accounts to Microsoft Authenticator.
Important Considerations:
-
Backup Authenticator App: If possible, consider backing up your authenticator app accounts (if your app supports it) or setting up your 2FA on multiple devices (e.g., a tablet and a phone) for redundancy.
-
Security Best Practices: Always keep your authenticator app and recovery codes secure. Never share your 2FA codes with anyone.
-
Troubleshooting: If you encounter issues, check Smilenotes's help center or support documentation for specific guidance.
