Smilenotes allows you to tag templates with a Quick Update Label (QUL). Tagged templates can then be displayed clearly on the main Template Settings page where you can check and update the label from a single and convenient screen:
-when you create a template, make sure you’ve checked this box (red arrow below) – otherwise your QUL won’t show up on the Template Settings page.
This is what the above template looks like when you use it to write a note in the Notepad:
As dentists, here are a few different ways we use Quick Update Labels with our templates:
LOCAL ANAESTHETIC BATCH NUMBERS
(or other drugs and materials you use)
-saves you having to write down long complex numbers each time.
LAB-WORK RETURN DATE
– it’s good practice to write the expected return date for laboratory work in your clinical/ treatment notes. Just set the date as a label then easily update it each day from the Template Settings Screen.
-use a QUL for the name of the laboratory that you normally send work to.
-enter the prefix for the prescription number as a label – then simply complete the remaining digits each time you’re writing-up and customising a note in the Notepad.
